If you are here, I suspect we share a similar sorrow. Like me, you have stood in the valley of the shadow of death. Whether death has come by surprise or you’ve watched it approach, grief’s power has brought you to your knees. Mourning has made you feel alone, isolated, unheard, misunderstood, abandoned.
I want you to know that I understand.
Not the particulars of your sorrow. Those are in your precious keeping. But the landscape of grief. This I know well. My life has been marked by loss too.
Regardless of your preparation for this moment, life has called you to walk with grief — in your own life or in the life of someone you love. Now is the time for intimate community, for love and gentleness, for finding a way forward in the midst of suffering.
