It’s snowing and it’s National Pi Day and our local bakery is giving away FREE Whoopie pies in honor of this most scientific of holidays. Cause for celebration? Yes, yes, I think so. You know me — always ready for an excuse to have dessert!

The power went out on Friday night and stayed off for seven hours. It’s the longest that’s happened in a while. Here’s what I noticed:
This morning one of my teens takes the SAT for the first time with thousands of other students across the country. Time is passing quickly; soon I’ll be the mom of a college student.
