I think we skated for the last time on Saturday. Ponds around here are thawing. Even the ice fishermen on the lake en route to church didn’t show up this weekend. It’s time to hang up the skates in the garage for another year.
We’ve had a week of warmer weather here and the snow is beginning to melt. It still gets below freezing at night, so ice thaws and forms again in a regular rhythm.
A study from @pennstate has estimated that each COVID death in the U.S. will affect "approximately nine surviving family members ... grandparents, parents, siblings, spouses and children." 
Tonight, I sat down on the sofa after dinner and averted my gaze as the laundry basket tried to make eye contact. The dog woke me up early this morning (why?!), and I’ve been going ever since.
