We’re a long way from fresh blossoms here in New England right now. All of the trees have shed their leaves, and my hydrangeas have turned a crispy brown. The world is closing down for winter.

One of my favorite verses from one of my favorite books, Isaiah 58:11. God has not abandoned you; his promises remain true. Even in the darkness you are held, known and loved beyond measure. He will provide for you.

Growing older when your dead husband is eternally young … well, it really sucks. It’s definitely something I’ve struggled with since becoming a widow. It’s slow going some days when I see my crows feet, but I’m learning to accept that growing old is actually a GIFT. I’m incredibly lucky to get the chance.

Like it or not, you’ve got a close relationship with your phone. And, when your person dies, you might have a close relationship with their phone, too. It might surprise you how much phone connection is normal in bereavement!
