Pennies on the sidewalk. Certain numbers. Dreams. Cardinals that land in the trees outside our homes. Friends, these are not messages our deceased loved ones are sending us.

For the rest of my life, this will be the gift I want the most. Grief is hard. Holidays are tough. If you’re missing your person, know you’re not alone.

We’re a long way from fresh blossoms here in New England right now. All of the trees have shed their leaves, and my hydrangeas have turned a crispy brown. The world is closing down for winter.
